  • Loretta Consulting Group - Director/Co-founder. With offices in San Diego, Laguna Niguel and Miami, this cross-border consulting firm specializes in assisting U.S. and Latin American countries in working together, as well as in defining USA Hispanic markets. Special emphasis on Mexico. We serve organizations which recognize value for professional, experienced guidance as they pursue cross-cultural business.

  • Standard Chartered Bank – CEO Latin America Region and Chairman Banco Standard Chartered (1998-2001). Responsible for integration, consolidation, and performance of three acquisitions, including maintenance, enhancement and profitability of core businesses (trade finance, cash management, lending, foreign exchange, asset/liability management, private banking, structured finance, correspondent banking).

As Chief Executive – Institutional Banking Group based in London from 1993-1998, directed development, growth, and general management of Standard Chartered's relationships with financial, investment, development and government institutions worldwide. Accountability included business plans, budgets, and profitability of institutional banking segments, operating in 50 countries with a staff of over 700, producing a profit of $120 million in 1997. Served as member of Standard Chartered's Senior Management Committee, at London World Headquarters.

  • First Interstate Bank of California – Executive Vice President and General Manager International Banking Group. (1983-1993). Managed each International Division, including North America, Asia, and Europe/Middle East, prior to promotion to General Manager for International Banking Group. Developed a world-class international trade and correspondent banking network that achieved 44% return on capital. This business was eventually acquired by Standard Chartered Bank in 1993.

  • Bank of America - Group Vice President/Manager Int'l. Banking office (L.A.). (1966-1983). Began banking career in 1966 while studying for MBA at USC. Was lending officer in Los Angeles, Assistant Representative at Mexico Representative Office, and VP/Manager of National Division Aerospace/Airline Group prior to promotion to Group VP/Manager of Int'l. Banking Office in L.A.

Director of Banking Association of Foreign Trade (BAFT), Member of the International Executive Committee of the American Bankers Association (ABA), and American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico. Eagle Scout, served in Junior Achievement, and have wide interests in sports, travel and international affairs.
